Why talking won't save your relationship — and what actually will.
A practical, CBT-based guide to rebuilding trust, communication, and connection — without waiting for your partner to change.

If you nodded along to even one of these, this book was written for you.
Most relationship advice tells you to "communicate better." But you've probably already tried that — and you're still stuck. This book takes a different approach, grounded in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.
"You cannot control how another person thinks, feels, or behaves. You can control how you think, feel, and behave — and that is where change begins."

Stephen Boylan is a relationship psychotherapist specialising in CBT, with over 16 years of experience helping individuals and couples create lasting change.
His journey into therapy was shaped by personal experience. After losing his mum at 14, Stephen struggled with grief, depression, and unhealthy coping behaviours before turning his life around in 2005. He qualified as a counsellor and completed advanced CBT training at Chester and Cumbria Universities.
Over years of clinical work, he developed the Foundations of Relationships (FOR) model — a structured framework that has helped thousands of individuals and couples transform their relationships through practical, behaviour-based change.
We have attended weekly sessions now for a few months and me and my fiancée finally seem to be making good progress. He has a unique method of seeing assumed problems in your relationship in a different light.
